Student Participation Form
All students, in addition to registering for the conference, are required to complete a participation form. Contact Lori Wharrey at lwharrey@aist.org or (724) 814-3044 if you have any questions.

Travel Grants
Both the AIST Foundation and the Material Advantage student program have funds available for travel assistance for undergraduate students who wish to attend AISTech 2010. Material Advantage funds are available to Material Advantage Chapters ($500). AIST Foundation funds are available to individual students ($250) who attend a university without a material Advantage Chapter. Funds are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of travel grants available is limited, so apply early using the AISTech Student Participation Form. Conference registration is required for all travel grant recipients.

Session Monitors
AIST offers students the opportunity to earn $50 per session while attending AISTech as a session monitor. Space is limited, so sign up early using the Student Participation Form. Questions should be directed to Ken Landau.

AISTech 2010 Attendance Challenge
AIST invites all universities to take part in the AISTech Attendance Challenge! The university with the highest number of students in attendance will receive $500.

Plant Tour	Student Plant Tour to TMK-IPSCO Koppel Tubulars, Ambridge, Pa. TMK IPSCO is a manufacturer of a wide range of carbon and alloyed seamless and welded pipe products primarily for energy applications. Its product offering includes seamless tubing and casing, drill pipe, line pipe, coupling stock, premium connections and oilfield accessories. Welded pipe products are casing and tubing for oil and gas wells, line pipe, standard pipe and hollow structural sections. TMK IPSCO also has steel making facilities producing steel billets for the manufacturing of seamless pipes and hollows. This plant of TMK IPSCO is a seamless tube mill. A bus will pick-up students at 1 p.m. and return at 4 p.m. Reserve your seat today. The best way to learn about the steel industry is to visit a steel plant. Orientation	Join students from other universities for orientation in the Westin Convention Center Hotel at 6:30 p.m., followed by a casual dinner and reception at 7:00 p.m. The orientation will provide an update on AIST and information on the valuable technical and social events available to students at AISTech. An AIST member will discuss the iron and steel industry’s opportunities for young professionals, as well as the importance of membership in AIST. The reception following will give students an opportunity to speak to the corporate sponsors about internships and jobs. Be sure to sign-up.
Steel Scavenger Hunt	Conference scavenger hunt forms will be distributed at orientation on Sunday, May 2. Students will be asked to find information about AISTech 2011, iron and steel-related companies, and AIST and its members. Completed forms must be turned in by noon on Wednesday, May 5 at the AIST Service Center in the Exhibit Hall. Prizes will be drawn at 3:00.

J. Keith Brimacombe Memorial Lecture	Students are encouraged to attend the Brimacombe Memorial Lecture in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Dr. Chenn Zhou from Purdue University-Calumet will present the lecture.
Student Project Presentation Contest	The contest will be held from 9:30 to noon in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Undergraduate students who participate will present their projects in a 15-minute session-type atmosphere. Presentation topics should be technical in nature. Students will be judged on technical content, topic coverage and presentation skills. All participants will receive $300 toward travel reimbursement. The top three finalists will receive cash prizes: $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place. Advance registration is required using the AISTech Student Participation Form, and space is limited to eight participants. If you do not plan to enter this contest, be sure to attend to support your fellow students.
Awards and Prizes	Contest awards will be presented at 11:45 - noon following the Student Project Presentation Contest in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Student Lunch with the AIST Foundation Board of Trustees	Enjoy a casual lunch with members of the AIST Foundation Board of Trustees at 12:30 - 1:30 in the Westin Convention Center Hotel. Advance registration is required using the AISTech Student Participation Form.
Technical Sessions	Students are encouraged to attend the many technical sessions of varying topics from 2 – 5 p.m.
Reception	A reception will be held in the exhibit hall from 5 to 6 p.m. Take advantage of this networking opportunity!
Social	Students are invited to ride The Duquesne Heights Incline up Mt. Washington, visit the Museum, head to the Hard Rock Café for dinner. Following dinner there may be time to explore Station Square. A bus will depart from the Westin Convention Center Hotel at 6:30 p.m. and return at 9:30 p.m.
