Carlos Garza, president and CEO, Tenova HYL

Carlos Garza has more than 35 years of experience in the automotive and steel industries. He is currently president and CEO of Tenova HYL, the direct reduction and steelmaking technology and services company of the Milan, Italy-based Tenova Group. Tenova HYL, together with Danieli, develops and supplies ENERGIRON direct reduction plants worldwide. Among many current projects is the 2.5 million tpy plant being built for Nucor in Louisiana. Mr. Garza has a degree in mechanical engineering and an M.B.A. from the Monterrey Technological Institute, as well as a master's degree in international management from the Thunderbird Graduate School in Arizona. He holds various certifications in quality and productivity in Japan, Mexico and the United States. Mr. Garza has been a member of various international associations, including AIST, AISI, Galvanizers Association, European Coil Coaters Association, as well as a number of other steel industry organizations.
