"The Indian Steel Scenario - Changing Technological Phase"

BIO: A Metallurgical Engineer from IIT Kanpur with a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management & Financial Management. He has been working in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India for the last 30 years, and presently, heading the Technical Wing of the Ministry as the Industrial Adviser and also appointed as the National Project Coordinator (NPC) of UNDP-GEF steel project for energy efficiency improvement in Indian re-rolling sector.

He is the nodal officer for Research & Development, Energy & Environment matters including CDM under Kyoto Protocol, Steel Task Force of APPCDC/ GSEP, National CDM Authority etc.

Before joining Government of India, Mr. A.C.R. Das worked for - Usha Martin Ltd., Ranchi, Rourkela Steel Plant of Steel Authority of India Limited and the Bureau of Indian Standards in the field of Standards Formulation & Certification of Steel Products.

Has widely travelled and represented India as Co-Chair of Steel Task Force of APPCDC/ GSEP.
