Peter Campo serves as president of Gerdau Long Steel North America. In this role, he leads the long steel operations in North America. Prior to his appointment to executive vice president in June 2015, Campo served as president of Gerdau Long Steel North America and oversaw U.S. and Canadian operations. He also served as vice president of supply chain, where he was responsible for procurement and processing of metallics, mill and downstream operations, and sales. Before his appointment to vice president of supply chain in 2013, Campo served as vice president of downstream operations with responsibility for the Reinforcing Steel, Rail Products, Wire Products and Bright Bar businesses. In 2010, he was named vice president and general manager of the Northern fabrication group in downstream, and became part of that business division's executive committee in 2009. He joined Gerdau in 2008 as the vice president of procurement and sales, planning and operations. Prior to Gerdau, he held several positions at General Electric, with growing responsibilities in general management, supply chain, manufacturing and quality in the U.S. and China. Campo holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a B.S. degree from Rice University.
