AISTech 2010 — The Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition is scheduled for May 3–6, 2010, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. Abstracts for this major international conference are being sought now for technical papers to be presented at the event and published in the proceedings.

AISTech 2010 will feature international technologies from the world over, allowing steel producers to compete in today’s global market. If you are involved in the steel industry, you can’t afford to miss this event. Whether you present, attend or exhibit, take advantage of this opportunity to discover ways to make your job easier and improve your productivity.

The Pittsburgh Marathon will be held Sunday, May 2, 2010, the day before the formal opening of AISTech 2010.  As the marathon can attract upwards of 50,000 people to the city, there is the potential for significant logistical problems if our events are not properly coordinated.  AIST staff has met with the responsible parties for the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the Pittsburgh Marathon and the Pittsburgh Visitors Bureau (VisitPittsburgh) to minimize the impact the race will have on our exhibit hall setup on Saturday and Sunday. At this time, the marathon course is not set but they have assured us the start and finish line will not be at the Convention Center, as it was in 2009.  However, it may be nearby - possibly just a few blocks away in the Strip District. 

AIST will be meeting with the marathon staff monthly to ensure proper closure of streets to allow complete access to the Convention Center loading docks and hotels. We will update this information on our website as soon as new information is available and will be posting maps of all road closures and all parking areas to allow our move-in to be as seamless as possible.
