AIST J. Keith Brimacombe Memorial Lecture

History and Purpose:

The AIST J. Keith Brimacombe Memorial Lecture was established in 1999 to honor Dr. J. Keith Brimacombe’s outstanding accomplishments in the area of process metallurgy, his dedication to the steel industry and his profound effect on people in the industry. This award shall be selected every other year on the even year. The honorary lecturer shall present a lecture on a subject of particular interest to the association two years following selection (i.e., selection in Jan 2006, presentation in 2008).

Nomination Process: Nominations shall be made by completing Sections 1 through 5 of the AIST Award Nomination Form. One letter of endorsement, a biography and a proposed citation are required with the nomination.
Qualifications: This award is granted in recognition of an individual dedicated to the steel industry to acquaint members, students and engineers with the many exciting opportunities that exist in the area of process metallurgy and to inspire them to pursue careers in this field. Lecture topic shall be provided to and approved by the AIST Conference Steering Committee chair.
Selection Process: The AIST Awards Program Committee shall select a final candidate.
