HISTORY AND PURPOSE

Originally established in 1992 in honor of Gilbert R. Speich, for his contributions to the field of ferrous physical metallurgy, was re-established as an AIST award in 2005.  The award is presented to the author of a physical metallurgy technical paper judged to be the best of class by the AIST Metallurgy – Processing, Products and Applications Technology Committee.
