History of the AIST Southern California Chapter

The Los Angeles District Section of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers (AISE) was formed in 1954. The section was renamed in 1997 to the Southern California Section. In 1975, the Iron and Steel society formed the Western section. With the merger of AISE and ISS in 2004, the AISE Southern California section and parts of the ISS Western section were consolidated to form the AIST Southern California Member Chapter. The AIST Southern California Member Chapter includes the Southern half of California and Arizona.
