History of the AIST Southwest Chapter

The Association for Iron and Steel Engineers (AISE) created the Texas District Section in 1968. The section was renamed to the AISE Southwest District Section in 1988. Following the merger of AISE and ISS (the Iron and Steel Society) in 2004, the AISE Southwest district section and portions of the ISS Western section were combined to form the existing AIST Southwest Member Chapter. The current AIST Southwest member chapter includes Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
