Young Engineers Night Dinner Meeting — January 2013
The AIST St. Louis Member Chapter hosted a Young Engineers Night panel discussion on Wednesday, 23 January 2013 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Collinsville, Ill. The panel featured Ryan Fitzpatrick, Christopher Keuss, Nick Yovandich and Matt Finan, all from U. S. Steel – Granite City Works. The panelists discussed the following projects: the BOF vessel refractory taphole block stand, coiler hydraulic system modifications and emergency acid shutoff system. There were 61 attendees at the dinner, including AIST president, Kent Peaslee, and several students from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Dinner Meeting — October 2012
On 17 October, the St. Louis Member Chapter held a dinner meeting at the Atrium Conference Centre in Burlington, Ont., Canada. The evening’s keynote presentation was entitled, “Steel: An Important Key to a Green and Sustainable Future,” presented by Dr. Kent D. Peaslee, F. Kenneth Iverson Steelmaking Chair, Missouri University of Science and Technology, and the 2012–2013 AIST president. There were 48 attendees at the dinner.

Steak Fry Social – September 2012
On Wednesday, 19 September, the St. Louis Member Chapter hosted their annual Steak Fry social dinner at the Edwardsville Gun Club in Edwardsville, Ill. There were 90 attendees at this year’s event.

Golf Outing – June 2012
The St. Louis Member Chapter hosted its 40th annual golf outing on Tuesday, 12 June 2012 at the Lockhaven Country Club in Godfrey, Ill. There were 104 participants at this year’s outing.

Dinner Meeting – January 2012
On Wednesday, 18 January, the St. Louis Member Chapter hosted a dinner meeting at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Collinsville, Ill. The keynote speaker was Anton Lukac, vice president, U.S. Flat Rolled Operations at United States Steel Corporation. The presentation was entitled, “U. S. Steel — Challenges and Opportunities.” There were approximately 80 attendees at the dinner.
