About the Program

This conference will deliver practical information and experiences from crane maintenance personnel, crane manufacturers, equipment manufacturers and engineering consultants who strive to make the EOT cranes and their runways the safest, most reliable, durable machinery and equipment in the steel plant.  This year’s 2-day program will include: safety-focused presentations on hot metal hoists, lifting slings, crane cab glass, equipment and component inspections; radio remote control standards; ultrasonic and non-destructive testing procedures and inspection programs that will include component life-expectancy calculations; maintenance practices and lubrication systems; the development of effective crane standards and a comparison of industry standards; and new crane projects, retrofits and the latest installed technology.  The technical program will conclude with extensive discussions on Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices.  A tour will be offered with this year’s program for a limited number of attendees.  Lincoln Electric Company, founded in 1895 and a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment, will host a tour of their main manufacturing facility in Euclid, Ohio.  Space will be limited and awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.

About Lincoln Electric

Lincoln Electric is the world's largest manufacturer of arc welding equipment, consumables and accessories. During the tour, participants will see both the Machine Division and Automation Center.  The Machine Division is Lincoln's main equipment manufacturing facility.  Learn about Lincoln's famous Incentive Management System and piecework production combined with the latest Just-in-Time and Cell Manufacturing techniques.  The Automation Center features the latest advances in robotic welding technology and environmental systems.  Learn about welding solutions that drive production costs down and safety, quality and productivity up.
