ArcelorMittal Burns Harbor
Burns Harbor is one of ArcelorMittal’s largest facilities in the United States. This fully integrated steelmaking facility is located on Lake Michigan in Northwest Indiana about 50 miles southeast of Chicago, Ill. The area allows for prime shipping access to the Port of Indiana – Burns Harbor, as well as excellent highway and railroad shipping. The plant operates two blast furnaces and is capable of producing 5.0 million tons of raw steel annually. Burns Harbor primarily serves the automotive industry. Other key markets include appliance, construction, office furniture and railcars. Principal products made at this location are hot rolled, cold rolled, coated sheet products and steel plate.
