Matching Funds Challenge
Over the past few years, the AIST board of directors has approved several Matching Funds Challenges in order to provide continued industry philanthropy. In each challenge, AIST has matched, dollar for dollar, donations made to the AIST Foundation, up to an aggregated total. Multi-year pledges provide an enduring impact on the sustained growth of Foundation programs and have also been included in the program.
AIST Matching Funds Challenge Four (MFC-4) — US$500,000 goal reached!
On 7 May 2014, the AIST board of directors approved a matching funds program for certain donations to the AIST Foundation, up to a aggregated total of US$500,000. Renewing donations will be matched 1-to-1, and any new donations (3-year lapse or greater) will be matched 2-to-1. The MFC-4 began on 1 July 2014 and will conclude 31 July 2015.
The aggregate total of US$500,000 has been reached thanks to large donations from ArcelorMittal USA, Gerdau and Steel Dynamics Inc., along with additional corporate donations from AKJ Industries, Berry Metal Company, Hatch Associates, Riverside Refractories, SMS USA LLC, the AIST Philadelphia Member Chapter and the AIST Southeast Member Chapter. The MFC-4 was completed on 31 July 2015.
