About the Cover

The Siam Yamato mini-mill in Rayong, Thailand, is the most modern medium section mill in Southeast Asia. The 700,000 tpy plant started up in 2010 and is based on the extremely flexible and productive semi-continuous design, able to produce a wide variety of sections from 100 to 350 mm and in small lot sizes for just-in-time production. The core technology of the continuous mill is the innovative SMS Meer CS stand design. Made of fabricated and not cast components, this design merges high rigidity with low weight and reduced manufacturing and operational cost.
