Prior to his current role at Nucor, Johnny Jacobs served as controller at Nucor Steel Louisiana LLC from 2011 to 2014 during the construction, commissioning and initial operations of the greenfield direct reduced iron plant. He served as the controller at Nucor Steel–Hertford County from 2002 to 2011. Jacobs was a business consultant with a focus on bankruptcy asset liquidation and reorganization from 2000 to 2002, and he held leadership roles in finance and human resources at Gulf States Steel. Inc. from 1997 to 2000. He currently serves on the board of directors of Riverside Hospital and the Kankakee Economic Alliance. Jacobs has a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association.
