Project 1: Hot Strip Mill Modernization Program

This presentation will cover ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s modernization program of its hot strip mill, including installing new downcoilers for advanced high-strength steels in an operating facility, power cooling, hands-free inspection and sampling, new runout tables, and coil handling.

Project 2: Steelmaking Improvement Program

Discussion of this project will focus on the delivery of hot metal to the electric arc furnace, enhanced automated alloy additions, automated basic oxygen furnace tapping and capacity increase.

Project 3: Galvanizing Lines No. 4 and No. 6 Upgrades
Kevin Wig, Galvanized Technology Improvement Coach,  ArcelorMittal Dofasco G.P.
This session will discuss the installation of a state-of-the-art galvanizing line in a repurposed finishing building. It is the tallest galvanizing tower in North America. Discussion will highlight the addition of a dual pot, replacing the cleaning section and post-treatment on an operating line.
