Yury Krotov has served as the general manager of Steel Dynamics Inc. – Engineered Bar Products Division since 2023. Prior to his current role, he served as general manager of New Millennium Building Systems from 2021 to 2023. From 2015 to 2021, he served as casting manager at Steel Dynamics Inc. – Flat Roll Group Butler Division. Between 2009 and 2015, Krotov held the position of technical services and rail welding manager at the Structural and Rail Division. In this role, he was responsible for the quality and rail welding departments, as well as engineering functions, including information technology, environmental compliance, and crane maintenance. He began his career with Steel Dynamics in 2000 as a process engineer in the hot strip mill. He subsequently served as melting and casting metallurgist at the Butler Division. Krotov earned an M.B.A. from Indiana University, an M.S. in computer science from Purdue University, and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley.
