Registration Opens for AISTech 2014 — The Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition

12/3/2013 - The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) has opened registration for AISTech 2014 — The Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition and is offering a 15% discount on all conference registrations prior to 31 January 2014.
AISTech 2014, North America’s largest annual steel conference and exposition, will be held at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis, Ind., USA, on 5–8 May 2014 and is expected to attract close to 6,000 attendees from across the globe.
As the 11th annual installment of the event, AISTech 2014 will feature technologies from the world over, allowing steel producers to compete in today’s global market. The conference offers unlimited business and technical opportunities, one that those involved in the steel industry can’t afford to miss. With more than 400 technical presentations, attendees will gain a command of cutting-edge, process-specific, steel-related technologies and discover dynamic solutions to everyday business challenges.
In conjunction with the Technical Conference, the Exposition represents a chance to meet face-to-face with the key individuals who specify, purchase, design and operate a variety of plants and facilities associated with the production and processing of iron and steel. The 2014 exposition is already forecast to be the largest yet, with over 283,000 square feet of exhibit space and more than 400 exhibitors.
Highlights of the 2014 event will include:
  • President’s Award Breakfast, 6 May — A breakfast program consisting of prestigious board of directors awards, followed by a keynote presentation by Mark D. Millett, president and chief executive officer, Steel Dynamics Inc.
  • Town Hall Forum, 7 May — A moderated panel discussion of respected leaders that gives attendees a deeper understanding of the factors that help determine the direction of the steel industry.
  • Steel Plant Tours, 8 May — Tours of ArcelorMittal Burns Harbor and Nucor Steel–Indiana will allow attendees to receive an up-close look of each facility and see how the ideas discussed at the technology sessions are put to practical use in the mill.
