Steel's Premier Technology Event
After extensive consultation in recent weeks with governing authorities and the AIST Board of Directors, and with due regard to the safety and health of our members, exhibitors, attendees and staff, AIST is obligated to cancel AISTech 2020 — The Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition as scheduled for 31 August–3 September in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
AISTech represents one of the world’s largest in-person learning platforms for iron and steel technology. It is also a networking catalyst whereby many companies, large and small, generate the business that drives the steel economy. While we may be disheartened by the decision, the rationale for canceling the event is sound in light of the pervasive COVID-19 pandemic and the many unique in-person programs that define AISTech. As an industry, Safety First shall always prevail. We want to thank our many attendees, presenters, exhibiting companies and sponsors for their unwavering commitment to AIST through this unprecedented situation. Your encouragement and support of AIST and the steel industry is genuinely appreciated.
To our respected award recipients, we remain committed to recognizing your achievements in the context of a public venue with your industry peers, and we ask for your continued patience as we determine the appropriate format. For all AISTech 2020 participants, exhibiting companies and sponsors, you will have the option to receive a full refund or to transfer any payments to AISTech 2021. Further information about refunds, hotel reservations and other FAQs will be available at www.AISTech.org and emailed directly to you.
We now turn our attention to AISTech 2021, scheduled for 3–6 May 2021 in Nashville, Tenn. We were last in Nashville in 2017, and it proved to be one of our best events ever. With extensive meeting rooms, a huge exhibit hall, plenty of first-class hotels and an abundance of networking opportunities to rekindle business relationships, we’re expecting big things for AISTech 2021. Our preparations have already begun with the resumption of exhibit hall booth selections; all current exhibitors will be contacted with the specific date and time that your company will be eligible to choose its space. We welcome everyone to join us in Nashville! AIST remains committed to providing our global steel community with valuable networking and educational experiences. The opportunities for steel to succeed are endless, and we look forward to your continued participation!
