BRIMACOMBE MEMORIAL LECTURE

The AIME Keynote and AIST J. Keith Brimacombe Memorial Lecture Award was established in 1999 to honor Dr. J. Keith Brimacombe’s outstanding accomplishments in the area of process metallurgy, his dedication to the steel industry and his profound effect on people in the industry.  This year's lecturer is P. Chris Pistorius, Center for Iron and Steelmaking Research, Carnegie Mellon University.

PRESIDENT'S AWARD BREAKFAST

Recognizing steel industry excellence, the President’s Award Breakfast program consists of the presentation of prestigious AIST Board of Directors Awards, including AIST’s Steelmaker of the Year, followed by a keynote presentation from Barbara Smith, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Metals Company.

TOWN HALL FORUM   

AISTech 2022 marks the 20th iteration of the Town Hall Forum. Since its inception, the Forum’s mission has been to confront the issues and opportunities that exist in the steel industry. For more than two decades, the Town Hall Forum has provided an insider’s view into the steel industry’s business climate from the people who know: a panel of respected leaders from some of the industry’s best-regarded companies.

WOMEN IN STEEL ROUNDTABLE
Since 2018, AIST has been assessing barriers to entry for women in steel, and has held a Women in Steel Roundtable at AISTech to learn more about the perceptions, opinions, beliefs and attitudes of women employed in the steel industry.
