Prasanna Joshi joined ExxonMobil in 1998 and has held multiple leadership roles in technology, research and engineering, chemicals, marketing, sales, and planning over his 25-year career with ExxonMobil. Before assuming his current role in 2022, he served as corporate strategic research manager in R&D in Clinton, N.J., USA, since 2020. In August 2018, he was named global sales director for the Specialty Elastomer business, ExxonMobil Chemical Co., and was based in Shanghai, China. Prior to that, in June 2015, he was appointed global marketing manager for the Intermediates business, ExxonMobil Chemical Co., in Spring, Texas, USA. From 2013 to 2015, Joshi held the position of modeling and scale-up technology director, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co., in Clinton, N.J., USA. In 2010, he was appointed Asia Pacific regional advisor for ExxonMobil Supply & Transportation Co. 

In his early career, Joshi progressed through several technical leadership roles in process and modeling research in Baton Rouge, La., and Paulsboro, N.J., USA, including the role of section head of process modeling, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co., in Clinton, N.J., in 2007, and the planning advisor role in 2008, supporting the president of ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co. in Fairfax, Va., USA. 
Joshi also serves as a sponsor for the United Way of Hunterdon County. He has served on the advisory board of the United Way of Hunterdon County, the Chemical Reaction Engineering Division of AIChE and the Catalysis Center for Energy Innovation (CCEI) at the University of Delaware.  

Joshi received his M.B.A. with a major in finance from Tulane University in 2006. He earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware in 1998, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Mumbai in 1994.
