Yuriy Ryzhenkov joined Metinvest Holding LLC in December 2013 as chief executive officer. Ryzhenkov demonstrates expertise in finance and business management, ensures the strategic and operational management or production processes, logistics, procurement and sales functions, and oversees interaction with teams and the sustainable development to stay in strict compliance with current legislation. He also has extensive crisis management experience, particularly in business management during a pandemic and amid armed conflict.
Before joining Metinvest, Ryzhenkov was chief financial officer, chief operating officer and a member of the Board of Directors for DTEK. From 2002 to 2007, Yuriy served as deputy chief finance officer and finance director of ISTIL Group (Donetsk-London). Prior to that, Mr. Ryzhenkov was the manager of economic analysis and informatics with CJSC Mini Steel Mill ISTIL (Ukraine). From 1996 through 2000, Yuriy was the assistant to the chief financial officer at Donetsk Iron and Steel Works. Ryzhenkov holds degrees in International Economics from Donetsk National Technical University, King’s College London, and an MBA from London Business School.
In 2020, he was included in the Forbes Ukraine ranking of the country’s Top 25 CEOs. Under his leadership, Metinvest Group achieved the highest growth rates in its history (based on 2021 data).He is an ambassador of the Do It Together charitable foundation and the Saving Lives project set up to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
