PORT OF BROWNSVILLE

The Port of Brownsville is the only deepwater seaport located on the U.S.-Mexico border, providing a strategic logistics hub for a host of multi-national manufacturing centers located across North America. This logistical advantage has catapulted the port as the major gateway for steel into Mexico, moving more than 4.6 million tons of steel commodities in 2022. This volume is projected to increase to more than 5 million tons in 2023. Class 1 rail service to and from the port is provided by Canadian Pacific Kansas City, Union Pacific and BNSF Railway. On-port rail service is provided by an agreement with OmniTRAX.
 

 

NUCOR CORP.
Nucor Corp. is North America’s largest steel and steel products company. Nucor and its affiliates operate 27 scrap-based steel mills and more than 300 total locations, annually processing more than 20 million tons of ferrous scrap to produce new steel and steel products that are 100% recyclable at the end of their useful life.
