Process Systems Specialty Training Conference

Attendees viewed a presentation during the Process Systems Specialty Training Conference on 26–28 March.

The 2013 Process Systems Specialty Training Conference was held on 26–28 March 2013 in conjunction with the Cold Rolling Fundamentals — A Practical Training Seminar in Detroit, Mich. This training conference was designed to educate the attendees on the various components and systems available, making organizational decisions less stressful and implementation more seamless. The agenda was a single-track format with time reserved for small group discussions on specific topics of interest. Topics covered were speed sensors, position sensors, vision systems, strip width measurement, shape roll measurement, flatness measurement, thickness measurement, coating measurement, drives, level 2 systems, process models, operating systems, integration of different systems and global enterprise scheduling. The training conference concluded with a roundtable discussion on process system security. The attendees had numerous opportunities to network with the presenters and the other attendees during the reception, breakfasts and lunches. The 57 attendees joined the Cold Rolling Fundamentals group for the tour of Severstal Dearborn’s pickle line tandem cold mill and hot-dipped galvanizing line.
