Scrap Supplements and Alternative Ironmaking Symposium

Conference Highlights: The 7th Scrap Supplements and Alternative Ironmaking Symposium drew more than 125 participants from all over the world, representing countries such as Canada, Mexico, India, Brazil, Korea, Japan, Netherlands, and Trinidad and Tobago. The topics presented ranged from overviews of various direct reduction processes, raw material use and influence on processes, to economic impact of variables, case studies, modeling examples of CO2 emissions, and an in-depth look at many of the various technologies and processes used to make direct reduced iron (DRI).
The participants had an opportunity to listen to experts and network with peers involved in the production, use and application of DRI. More than 30 technical presentations were given over the three-day symposium, providing the attendees with a very comprehensive program of technical information.
