Carl Orrling Carl Orrling has been chief technology officer of SSAB since April 2024, leading the company’s technical strategy and innovation with a strong focus on sustainable transformation. With more than 20 years of experience in the steel industry, he has held key roles in operations, technology, R&D and previously headed SSAB’s Transformation Office. Orrling has been instrumental in strategic initiatives such as SSAB’s acquisition of Rautaruukki and the company’s investment program for fossil-free steel production at its Nordic plants. He began his career at Bethlehem Steel’s Homer Research Laboratories in the U.S. and holds an M.Sc. from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University. |
