About the Program
The 8th International Congress on the Science and Technology of Steelmaking (ICS) will be organized by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST). The event will provide a forum for academic and industrial researchers to present their work on topics in process metallurgy, particularly those related to steel production, refining and casting. This meeting is aimed at creating an opportunity for a technical exchange at an international level among the numerous experts involved in steelmaking.
The program will feature sessions on:
Fundamentals of metallurgical processing.
Slag engineering.
Fluid flow and solidification.
Electric arc furnace steelmaking processes.
Oxygen steelmaking processes.
Secondary refining processes.
Continuous casting.
Non-metallic inclusions.
Slab quality control.
Mold fluxes.
Hot metal pre-treatment.
Sensors, data analytics and automation.
Effects of processing on products and technology.
