EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE Granted Permit to Operate Steel Mill

9/26/2013 - EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. (EVS) in the Czech Republic has been granted an integrated permit for the operation of the steel mill from the Regional Authority of the Moravian-Silesian Region. Thanks to this permit EVS can continue to operate the steel mill with an obligation to implement the secondary dedusting of the convertor hall in the steel mill within next two years. The permit includes the obligation to perform other technical and organizational measures that help to further reduce emissions from the steel production.
“We thank the Regional Authority of the Moravian-Silesian Region for its constructive approach in dealing with our request. We believe that application of the measures that the Regional Authority has required as part of the integrated permit we will be able to sufficiently reduce emissions. We are ready to satisfy the conditions as soon as possible so that the steel mill can start to operate again as of October,” said Dmitrij Ščuka, chairman of EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL.
