Tenaris, Sandvik Materials Technology Ink Five-Year OCTG Agreement

10/13/2021 - Tenaris announced yesterday it is extending its longtime partnership with Sandvik with a new five-year agreement for the supply of oil country tubular goods.

According to a press release from Tenaris, the two companies have held an alliance for nearly 20 years to add value to the oil and gas sector. The extension of the partnership is intended to combine the development of corrosion-resistant steel alloys with the manufacture of high-quality, high-performing OCTG and premium connections with Tenaris’ Dopeless® technology.
“We continue to draw from our combined strengths in R&D and manufacturing to offer customers differentiated solutions, unmatched in the industry today,” said Tenaris chairman and chief executive Paolo Rocca. “And, as the sector pivots with a greater focus on low-carbon solutions, we are best-positioned and have the know-how to execute projects for the energy transition such as carbon capture and storage, geothermal and gas production — segments that require advanced materials and product technologies that maximize performance while reducing environmental impact.”
