AIST Pittsburgh Member Chapter
Scholarship Application

To qualify for these scholarships:

  • You must have an AIST Parent Member active in the AIST Pittsburgh Member Chapter, or be an AIST Student Member through the Material Advantage Student Program, who attends a university within the Pittsburgh Member Chapter area.

  • You must be enrolled or accepted at a university for the fall semester at an accredited College or University, full-time as an undergraduate student.

To complete this application you must provide:

  • A current resume with work experience (focusing specifically on field-related internships or jobs) and any extracurricular activities, noting any leadership positions, other honors and scholarships received.

  • A brief essay (1 to 2 pages)  describing your objectives for college and career.

  • A copy of your university transcript (provide High School transcript if you are a High School Senior).

  • One  (1) recommendation letter from a counselor, teacher or professor.

  • AIST Parent Member Name, Company and AIST Member number, or AIST Student Member number.

-an accomplishment achieved while being a student, why you were successful, and how your success will influence  your future plans as an engineer.
- your strengths and interests and how you will apply your skills to a career in the steel industry or as an engineer.
- challenges that face the steel industry and opportunities for graduates to improve the success of companies within the industry.
 
     
  A recommendation or evaluation from a counselor, teacher or professor.  
     
  A copy of current university transcript (High School transcript should be provided if you are a High School Senior)
