Graduate Student Poster Contest Guidelines

The Graduate Student Poster Contest will take place at AISTech on Monday, 4 May 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, PA., USA. Deadline to submit an entry is 26 March 2026.

Criteria

All full-time graduate students who are registered for AISTech and have completed a project or paper may register to participate in this contest.  The topic of the poster should be related to the iron and steel industry, properties or applications. Each student may submit one poster into the contest per year. Posters will be judged on quality, clarity, aesthetics and technical content. Oral presentation of the research is not a criterion for judging.

Posters should not exceed 45” x 45”. Graphics should be simple, colorful, well-labeled and clear. The title should be written in letters 2 to 5 cm. high, and should be readable from a distance of 2 m.

All participants are required to submit their posters in the form of a high-resolution PDF with exact dimensions listed in the file name to cyoung@aist.org by Wednesday, 22 April 2026 (Ex: FILENAME_45x45.pdf). AIST will print and hang all posters at the David L. Lawrence Convention Ceter for judging on 4 May 2026. Authors are not to be present during judging from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on 5 May 2026.
