The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) is a non-profit association based in Warrendale, PA, with members from more than 70 countries. Our staff is committed to providing superior technical meetings, conferences, exhibits and publications to better serve those involved in the iron and steel community, including steel manufacturers, suppliers, consumers and academics.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE, ADVERTISING AND EXHIBITS

The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) seeks a dynamic individual who will contribute and collaborate with our sales team to service new and existing customers. AIST is a non-profit entity recognized as a global leader in networking, education, and sustainability programs for advancing iron and steel technology. The Sales Representative responsibilities include:

  • Service existing and new customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.

  • Maintain a high level of expertise about available association products and services. Demonstrate that knowledge to existing and potential customers.

  • Prospect and qualify new sales leads.

  • Develop strong, ongoing relationships with customers and prospects.

  • Communicate customer and prospect product pain points to appropriate departments.

  • Collaborate with the sales team in weekly meetings by bringing a friendly, can-do attitude.

  • Coordinate with team members and departments to optimize sales efforts.

  • Assist with coordination and development of promotional material for sales efforts.

  • Provide on-site support at designated AIST events.

  • Accomplish department and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or other related field is required, with at least five years’ experience in sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Our ideal candidate is an ambitious, hard-working person who exhibits a positive attitude. In addition, candidate must enjoy working in a team-based environment and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, co-workers, and leadership. Demonstrated sales experience in the steel industry is a plus. Travel will be required, up to 15%. Candidate will work from the AIST office in Warrendale, Pa.


GRANT PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) seeks a fulltime grants program coordinator to join its Technology Programs department. This is a newly created position in the association with the opportunity for a growth-focused individual to build a standalone department for grant review, application, and management. The selected candidate will research and obtain grant opportunities for the association as well as coordinate current grant programs currently within the association. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the Technology Department team as well as other AIST departments to ensure the highest-quality product. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, and/or technical writing/communications; and two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid organizational skills, multi-tasking and time-management abilities are critical as well as the ability to prepare and coordinate schedules, action steps, flowcharts and risk management. Teamwork and a people-oriented attitude are critical. Travel will be required as necessary to serve the needs of the grant program administration, Grant Workshops, and other AIST Events for the management of the grant programs. 


MEMBER DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) seeks a dynamic individual to oversee the daily operations of its member database (iMIS) and integrated online store. The Member Database Administrator responsibilities include:

  • Identify, develop and document database processes and procedures

  • Troubleshoot database problems and develop solutions to maintain optimal performance

  • Preserve data integrity and handle all private data ethically

  • Work with IT department and necessary staff for product installations

  • Create and run database reports as required (IQAs, crystal reports, SQL Server Reporting Services)

  • Keep current with new or upcoming changes to database software, offerings, upgrades, updates and web-based integrations

  • Work with database and other software vendors for support and changes

  • Train new staff on database functionality and end users on new database upgrades

  • Assist Web Team with database website integration projects and tasks

  • Perform standard database administration tasks, such as installations and upgrades, dropping/adding users and logins, month-end reporting, yearly membership invoicing, etc.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or other related field is required, with at least three years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Our ideal candidate is an ambitious, hard-working person who exhibits a positive attitude. Candidate must be self-motivated and take initiative to identify, communicate and resolve potential issues. In addition, candidate must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, members and third-party vendors. Demonstrated database experience for a non-profit association is a plus. Travel may be required once a year. Candidate will work from the AIST office in Warrendale, Pa.
