DRI Subcommittee

MISSION: To focus on the emerging market and technological trends for the production, handling and use of DRI and HBI products as well as present and future technology for Alternative Iron Production.

Tasks of the committee:

  • Organize AIST conference and seminars relevant to DRI and Alternative Iron production (such as the Scrap substitutes and Alternative Ironmaking symposium held every 4 years and the upcoming DRI Technology Training conference in November 2014).

  • Solicit papers and Chair sessions at AIST conference for this topic.

  • Produce a DRI plant roundup for publication in Iron & Steel Technology.

  • Schedule Meetings in conjunction with IMTC and encourage involvement of DRI producers, technology suppliers and users.
