AISI: November 2014 Steel Mill Shipments Declined 10%
01/14/2015 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of November 2014, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,638,086 tons,
This was a 10.2% decrease from the 8,508,477 tons shipped in the previous month, October 2014, and a 0.4% increase from the 7,604,428 tons shipped in November 2013. Shipments year-to-date in 2014 are 90,270,336 tons, a 2.8% increase vs. 2013 shipments of 87,790,788 tons for 11 months.
A comparison of November shipments to the previous month of October shows the following changes: hot rolled sheets, down 8%, cold rolled sheets, down 9% and hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip, down 12%.
