ANDRITZ Accepts Order for French Galvanizing Line Furnace
02/05/2018 - ArcelorMittal Atlantique & Lorraine S.A.S. has ordered a direct-fired furnace from the ANDRITZ technology group in support of a EUR67 million coating line conversion.
The order comes as ArcelorMittal plans to convert an underutilized electrogalvanizing at its Florange, France, integrated mill to a 600,000-ton continuous galvanizing line. The line will be used to produce ArcelorMittal’s branded advanced, high-strength steels, including its Usibor line.
"The line will put ArcelorMittal in a strong position to meet fast-growing demand for Usibor," ArcelorMittal said recently.
ANDRITZ will supply the furnace engineering, and the automation and electrical equipment. It also will oversee installation and commissioning.
Start-up is planned for the third quarter of 2019.
