ANDRITZ Delivers Cold Rolling Mill to Ansteel Group
07/08/2025 - Ansteel Group Xichang Steel & Vanadium Co. has presented ANDRITZ with final acceptance for its new single-strand S6-high reversing cold rolling mill in China.
The company said the mill produces strips of advanced high-strength steel and titanium alloy with an annual capacity of 260,000 metric tons. The strips can have a maximum width of 1,520 mm with a thickness ranging from 7.0 to 0.3 mm.
The project also included ANDRITZ’s shape:tronic system, an automation solution, a complete coolant lubrication system, and a self-contained fume exhaust and oil-separator system.
ANDRITZ said its supervisors and specialists assisted in achieving optimal rolling and technological performance during the commissioning phase. They also supported the roll grinding process.
While ANDRITZ has supplied four single-strand S6-high cold rolling mills in China, the Ansteel Xichang installation is the country’s first combined mill for steel and titanium with two different sizes of roll sets, the company said.
