ANDRITZ to Complete Acquisition of Salico Group

Salico has over 45 years of experience, specializing in the design and manufacturing of metal flat strip finishing equipment. Its product portfolio complements ANDRITZ’s ability to supply and service finishing equipment for various steel and aluminum grades and all strip dimensions, the company said.

“United, we will serve our customers with flexibility, fast response time, a direct approach, and the strength of the ANDRITZ Group,” said José María Gerbolés, chief executive officer of the Salico Group.

With locations in five countries along with a manufacturing base in Molteno, Italy, Salico estimates its annual revenues are around €100 million with a workforce of about 150 experts. ANDRITZ said the company’s sales and service network will add to its global presence and grow its finishing segment and related service business.

“This acquisition allows us to offer our customers the whole downstream process from ANDRITZ and provide comprehensive, innovative solutions for efficient and reliable operation of finishing lines throughout their life cycle,” said Guido Burgel, senior vice president of metal processing at ANDRITZ.

The acquisition is part of ANDRITZ’s strategy to become a full-line supplier for the entire downstream portfolio in the ferrous and nonferrous industries.

The companies said the transaction is expected to be closed in the next few weeks.
