ANDRITZ to Equip Tarali Pumped Storage Plant
06/17/2025 - ANDRITZ announced it has received an order from renewable energy company Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) to supply its new Tarali pumped storage plant in Maharashtra, India.
ANDRITZ said it will supply pump turbines, motor generators and other electromechanical equipment. It will also design, manufacture, install, test, and commission the pumped storage units and associated auxiliaries. The project will be executed in their manufacturing facilities in India supported by its global network.
The company estimates the Tarali plant will have a capacity of 1,500 MW. The purpose of the expansion is to balance the increase of variable renewable energy from solar and wind in its energy mix.
This marks the second time the companies have worked together, as AGEL turned to ANDRITZ to supply the Chitravathi pumped storage plant that was completed in 2023.
