Tangsteel said its aim with the modernization is to better meet domestic and international demand for cold-rolled strip while increasing production capacity and operational efficiency.

ANDRITZ said the No. 5 continuous galvanizing line was originally commissioned in 2017 and previously upgraded by them in 2021 to enhance its heating and cooling capacity. The line was mostly used to produce materials for the automotive and home appliance industries. Products include cold-rolled thin gauge, coated steel strip, electrical steel, and automotive body and component materials.

Following the upgrade, the company estimates the line will cover a wider production range and higher steel grades for automotive applications.

Commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, the company said.
