AO Steel Works Balakovo Contracts Danieli for Long Products Mini-Mill
01/26/2022 - Danieli will supply an electric arc furnace-based mini-mill for the Russian steel producer in Balakovo, Saratov region, the supplier reports.
According to a press release from Danieli, the new mini-mill will produce 1.46 million tons per year of quality billets, blooms and beam blanks; and 1 million tons per year of beams, U-pile, Z-section, rails and profiles.
Danieli will supply the meltshop, caster, walking beam reheating furnace, downstream equipment and process control system.
The plant is anticipated to start production by 2024.
