ArcelorMittal Finalizes New Ownership Plan for ILVA
04/15/2021 - ArcelorMittal has completed an agreement that gives control of its ILVA business to a public-private partnership.
Under the investment agreement with Invitalia, an Italian state-owned company, Invitalia is injecting EUR400 million in the business and will have a 38% stake and equal voting rights. It is expected to increase its stake to 60% through a second equity injection of up to EUR680 million.
The ArcelorMittal subsidiary that had been formed to operate ILVA is being renamed Acciaierie d’Italia and will operate independently of ArcelorMittal.
