ArcelorMittal Honored as Top Company for Leaders

ArcelorMittal was recently named to Aon Hewitt's European list of “Top Companies for Leaders,” a comprehensive study of organizational leadership, as a first-time entrant to the survey.

The Top Companies for Leaders study is conducted by global human resource consulting company Aon Hewitt in partnership with Fortune, the global business publication, and The RBL Group, an HR strategy and leadership consultancy.

Winners were selected and ranked by an expert panel of independent judges based on criteria including strength of leadership practices and culture, examples of leader development on a global scale, alignment of business and leadership strategy, and business performance and company reputation.

When comparing the Global Top Companies for Leaders to more than 470 other companies worldwide, the study identified a strong connection between business strategy and leadership strategy. It also reiterated the existing link between investing in leaders and financial results, as well as the importance of measuring the effectiveness of key leadership development programs and involving executives in these programs.

Brian Callaghan, VP Leadership Development, said: "ArcelorMittal was one of only seven winners (out of 61 entries) in Europe. For a first-time entrant, this is a significant achievement, but our efforts will not stop here."

The 2011 list will appear in the November 21 issue of Fortune magazine.
