ArcelorMittal Jinxi Taps Danieli for Tandem Mill Project
08/07/2025 - Joint venture between ArcelorMittal and China Oriental Group, ArcelorMittal Jinxi New Materials, has selected Danieli to install a 6-stand cold strip mill in Changzhou, China.
Danieli said the new cold-rolling tandem mill will have six 6-high stands to process high-grade nonoriented silicon steel products for electric vehicle applications. It is part of the new energy magnetic material project.
The mill will feature a proprietary small work roll diameter and a large-stroke shifting system. This will help it to meet stringent requirements for ultrathin gauges, high precision and specialized temperature control for silicon steel production.
Other features include a dynamic roll and strip oil lubrication system; the Dan-Joint driveshaft system and automatic thin oil lubrication unit; X-Dry precision strip cleaning; and a smart self-inspecting selective cooling system.
The companies said the new tandem mill is planned to start operation in 24 months.
