ArcelorMittal Partners With AWS For Industrial Automation, Green Steel
06/22/2026 - ArcelorMittal announced it has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to bring industrial automation across its operations through cloud, artificial intelligence (AI) and edge technologies.
“By converging our operational and information technology on a single secure platform, we are moving to digitally enabled operations: safer for our people, more reliable in output, and more sustainable by design,” said Nik Puri, chief information officer and chief information security officer at ArcelorMittal.
The companies said this collaboration will bring AWS cloud and AI technologies to ArcelorMittal’s manufacturing processes. It will converge a part of its operational technology and information technology on AWS infrastructure. By deploying AI at the point of production, it will allow for predictive maintenance, computer vision quality control, process optimization and digital twins of its assets and production lines.
“ArcelorMittal is rethinking how steelmaking works, from predictive maintenance on furnaces and other industrial installations, to AI-driven energy optimization. By bringing AI to the point of production, they are creating new ways of running safer, more efficient operations across steelmaking sites in 14 countries,” said Tanuja Randery, managing director and vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, for AWS.
AWS said it will also design and deliver a comprehensive education program for ArcelorMittal’s workforce.
Amazon has also entered a multiyear supply framework agreement with ArcelorMittal for the supply of lower-carbon XCarb® structural steel across Europe and the U.K. It will be used in Amazon facilities and AWS data centers.
