ArcelorMittal to Return Brazilian BF to Service
09/24/2020 - Anticipating an economic recovery, ArcelorMittal Brazil plans to restart a blast furnace at its Tubarão facility next month, reports commodities news and pricing service S&P Global Platts.
According to Platts, ArcelorMittal said the decision is strategic – it is trying to position itself for a quick ramp-up if need be. In the meantime, the 2.8-million-metric-ton furnace will run at a reduced rate, Platts said.
