B5Plus Group Selects Danieli to Supply Technology for Bar and Wire Rod Mill
09/21/2026 - Steel manufacturing and downstream industrial group B5Plus Group has selected Danieli to provide the technological equipment for a new bar and wire rod mill in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
The companies said the new mill will produce rebar in straight lengths between 8 to 32 mm diameter and smooth wire rod from 5.5 to 16 mm. It will have a capacity of 50 metric tons hourly, or 300,000 metric tons annually, of long products.
Danieli said all the technological equipment, including the laying head and fast finishing block, will be manufactured at its headquarters’ workshop in Italy. The mill will be operated through integrated in-house automation systems.
The layout of the plant will allow for future connection to a continuous casting machine. Start-up is planned for the third quarter of 2027, the companies said.
