BAHAGIA STEEL Taps SMS group for New Twin-Strand HSD® Rebar Line
03/12/2026 - Indonesian round bar and rebar producer PT. BAHAGIA STEEL has tapped SMS group to deliver a new twin-strand high-speed delivery (HSD®) rebar production line for its Kampung Wringinanom site.
BAHAGIA STEEL said the reason for the new line is to increase production efficiency and meet increased demand for construction steel. It can produce rebars with diameters between 5.2 to 32 mm with rolling speeds up to 45 m per second.
SMS group said it will supply the mechanical and automation control equipment including a high-speed shear upstream of the finishing block, a waterbox cooling system and the twin-strand HSD line. The HSD line will provide improved process control, higher material yield and better production efficiency.
The companies said the plant will be completed at the end of 2026.
