Baoshan Iron & Steel Celebrates Rolling First Bar on KOCKS RSB
07/08/2026 - KOCKS announced Baoshan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. has successfully rolled its first bar on the reducing and sizing block (RSB® 370++/4) it supplied them.
The companies said the new 3-roll RSB is acting as the finishing block for straight bars, following 20 stands in H/V arrangement. The greenfield mill has an estimated capacity of 620,000 metric tons annually. The product range includes straight bars with sizes between 20 to 100 mm.
“Having the very first bar already rolled within the specified tolerances is an important result for our teams and a strong basis for the ramp-up,” said a customer representative at Baoshan Iron & Steel.
Other features include a remote control for automatic stand and guide adjustments, and BAMICON Octopus software and hardware guides. The project included relocation from the Shanghai production facility and replacing the existing KOCKS block from 2003, the companies said.
