Baosteel Stainless Steel Enters Luzhou Liquor Industry

08/10/2009 - Baosteel International West Area signs its first supply contract with Sichuan Luzhou Liquor Industry for 2000 tonnes hot rolled pickled stainless steel.

Baosteel International West Area Corp. recently signed its first supply contract with Sichuan Luzhou Liquor Industry for 2000 tonnes hot rolled pickled stainless steel. The steel is to be used in a new project for 100 thousand tonnes of liquor containers in Luzhou Laojiao Co., Ltd.
 
Luzhou is one of the main liquor production bases in Sichuan. In this area, there are more than 600 liquor-making industries. According to Luzhou’s new developing plan, Luzhou Laojiao will take the initiative to integrate the relevant local resources and build one centralized development area for the Luzhou liquor industry.
 
After signing the first supply contract for 2000 tonnes of hot rolled pickled stainless steel, West Area Corp. conducted deep discussions on long-term cooperation with the Luzhou liquor industry. Luzhou Laojiao expressed interest in taking advantage of stainless steel’s anti-corrosion and thermo-conduction properties, and the possibility of working with Baosteel to develop stainless steel liquor bottles. Once this innovative idea becomes a reality, it will have a positive impact on the liquor packing industry in Sichuan and even in the domestic market, which will also help to expand the application of cold rolled stainless steel in the liquor-making industry.
