Barry Schneider Appointed to Rose-Hulman Board of Trustees

Schneider attended Rose-Hulman as an undergraduate student, graduating in 1990 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He also received a master’s degree in engineering management from the school in 2011. In 2010, Schneider received an alumni career achievement award from Rose-Hulman.

“Barry brings extensive experience in engineering, innovation and organizational leadership, along with a firsthand understanding of the value of a Rose-Hulman education,” said Robert Coons, president of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Schneider’s involvement in the school also includes acting as keynote speaker for its annual Order of the Engineer ceremony for several years and acting as a philanthropist. His capstone project when he got his master’s degree became a US$76 million mill project approved by SDI in 2012 and has since opened and been utilized.

“Being immersed into the Rose-Hulman experience helped me become a better person, and being surrounded by the very best in faculty and fellow students set my trajectory for my career and personal life. I want to serve Rose-Hulman as a Trustee to help continue the great traditions of academic excellence and leadership for generations to come,” said Schneider.
